I get offered many beauty treatments to try for reviews, new salon openings or new procedures with new technology, but when it comes to my face, I am pretty picky. I always ensure the clinic / salon is reputable, with qualified doctors. I hear too many horror stories from backstreet salons with ‘unofficial’ therapists or doctors.

That’s why I LOVE going to DS Skin & Wellness Clinic for my facial treatments. The doctors here are all dermatologists with deeper knowledge and medical expertise of the skin.

“Our ultimate aim is the health and wellbeing of our patients’ skin and with that in mind, our treatments are built to enhance everyone’s natural beauty while respecting the skin you’re in.”

I went to to see them after my face took a serious hit during the first lockdown (or second? or third? I’ve lost count now) when no facials were allowed. During the consultation I voiced my concerns that my skin feels dull, lifeless, dry and my pores were SO blocked it was gross. I had barely finished speaking before they said – Hydrafacial. I need a hydrafacial. This award-winning medical-grade treatment is great for deep cleansing whilst providing deep nourishment and hydration to the skin, with virtually no downtime either.

Unlike traditional dermabrasion, this resurfacing facial gently deep cleanses and intensely hydrates your skin. It also nourishes your complexion with skin enriching serums addressed to your specific skin concerns without any redness or irritation. Your natural skin will emerge youthful and radiant right after, giving you a glow to die for.

The HydraFacial

What it is: The original patented HydraFacial is a hydradermabrasion device that performs a three step facial for your skin — cleansing, exfoliating, and infusing skin with potent treatment serums.

What it does: Hydradermabrasion is a gentler version of microdermabrasion that sucks debris out of pores while infusing skin with actives ingredients that hydrate, brighten and protect. Apart from this standard three steps, there are targeted boosters, which can help with individual skin concerns, like dark spots or fine lines and wrinkles.

The results: It’s a treatment that is super popular in Hollywood because of the instant and lasting glow it imparts.

How often should you do it: Every two to four weeks is recommended to maintain that sought-after skin glow and suppleness.

The whole experience was just delightful. The machine extracts so much crap from your skin – removing all the impurities and clearing out enlarged pores via a painless suction. But it also nourishes with super serums, using the machine’s technology to saturate the skin’s surface with antioxidants, peptides and other hydrating ingredients that allows you to walk away with a fresher-than-fresh clean, soft and supple face.

I fell asleep half way through my facial as it was so relaxing, including the light massage from the therapist during the treatment.

Open Monday to Saturday, I highly recommend booking your own consultation to discuss your facial skin woes and allow the brilliant team at DS Skin & Wellness Clinic to brighten your day just as they did mine!
