Anyone who skipped home from my launch party, goody bag in hand, will know about the brand TWO L(I)PS. A year-old luxury intimate care brand, the products are designed for your vulva – giving much needed attention to our lady gardens. Whether you wax monthly, shave weekly, have IPL, laser or just leave it natural – your pubic area and skin down below will always need some TLC. Heck, even your monthly menses or certain contraception can dry our your skin around your vagina.
That being said, what I absolutely love about this range is that they are great for your body AND face, making them multi-purpose and saving you money, bathroom cupboard space and extra products you don’t need. Oh and lest I forget to mention, all products are dermatologically and gynaecologically tested, free from petrochemicals, parabens and sulphates. Thus, pretty darn safe for most skin types, even sensitive, to use.
Without too much information (ahem), regular sugaring leaves my skin in desperate need of hydration and some damage control on hair follicles. Which is why I’ve invested in both POUT and BUMPPS from TWO L(I)PS. Let’s get down to it shall we? Pun intended.
POUT
POUT is a hydrating serum that consists of 95% active ingredient Hyaluronic Acid. The beauty buffs among you will appreciate that this ingredient is the bad boy we all want for our skincare – giving serious hydration and moisture and, in a low weight molecular size that POUT has, it is absorbed easily into the skin.
I have used POUT twice a day now for around 4 weeks, and I use it on both my vulva area and face. It absorbs pretty much instantly to the point I don’t even need to pat my skin for it to be absorbed in. Great when I have lost time and need to apply my makeup immediately before heading to work. I have genuinely noticed a huge difference, both my face and my vulva area, with regards to the softness of my skin and the ‘plumpness’ of my face. I really adore this product for its versatility and for the results delivered.
If, like me, you’re worried about products on or near your genitals, fear no more. Even though POUT is meant for use on the vulva and not the vagina, it can come into contact with the vaginal opening. Avoid if you can, but you should be absolutely fine if any slip ups are made.
*Please note: Pout is best avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. You can start to use the product three months after childbirth, if you have stopped breastfeeding.
POUT is $180 for 30ml.
BUMPPS
Whilst POUT is designed for the whole skin area, BUMPPS targets specifically inflammed hair follicles, reducing blackheads and oily T-zones. Enriched with arrowroot and chamomile extracts, along with tea tree leaf oil, the product targets surface-level folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) and fight inflammation, leaving skin clean and clear. Arrowroot extract gently treats and heals blemishes, rashes, sores and wounds, without drying out the skin. Chamomile extract contains anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties to help soothe the skin and promote wound healing, whilst tea tree oil is anti-bacterial with anti-inflammatory properties, all in aid to fight inflammation while calming redness and swelling at the same time.
That’s A LOT of good stuff in one tube, is it not?
Even if you don’t have, or have ever had, inflammed follicles, BUMPPS works wonders to keep your pores in check – both face and body. It is great for your pubic area in controlling any damaged hair follicles, and great for your face with any clogged pores.
I used to shave (boo hiss) and then I tried IPL, hot waxing and now I stick to sugaring (another blog coming on that later) every month, so I’ve pretty much tried all the hair removal options out there and still tackle the post-hair removal lumps, bumps and redness. Along with POUT, I’ve been using BUMPPS for the last 4 weeks too twice a day – and once again, have really seen the results. I use one-three drops, depending on the condition of my skin, and pat until its all absorbed.
I love the fact I can use is pretty much straight away after a sugaring session, I can rely on BUMPPS to diminish any redness or post treatment spots and I can use it daily. I am lucky enough to not need it on my face, but the fact it is available for me to use should I get some unsightly spots, makes me all the happier.
*Please note, Bumpps treats surface-level folliculitis, which can be identified as small, red bumps. Folliculitis that contains pus usually indicates an infection, and if this happens, please seek medical attention for antibiotic treatment to prevent the infection from spreading. Bumpps is best avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. However, you may use the product three months after childbirth, if you are not breastfeeding.
Bumpps cost $130 for 50ml.
