Now we all know I’ve been to more press events, parties and launch nights than I can even count now, and most are fabulous and filled with fashionable frolics any socialite can lap up. However, I have to say Schon Magazine topped the lot on Wednesday with their ‘Welcome to Deutschland’ pre-Olympic party.
It was held on a ship…yep, you heard…an actual ship ‘MS Deutschland’ taking residence for now in Canary Wharf. A mid week boat party is fine by me!
In collaboration with Ambassador Georg Boomgaarden, the London based lifestyle magazine showed what a success German creative industries are, with the Editor in Chief Raoul Keil being a German born Londoner himself. Welcomed onto the ship, I arrived with my usual fashion crew, Jay Camilleri (Dirty Sexy Things star and model), James Mckeown, my publicist Karena Sedgwick and my stylist Tawfi Khoury. With the most amazing canapés (the sausage was immense, but I expected nothing less than delicious from Germany), and drink flowing all night, we rocked the top deck to some awesome tunes by some rather delightful DJs in full gown frocks. There were the most bizarre puppets…must have been 8 foot high and they lit up and were manoeuvred around the floor by a team of people…so very strange, so very Schon!
I bumped into many familiar faces including stylist Kelvin Barron, and made some new friends too..shout out to Anita, Aizak and Factory 311. I ended up with my lot on the DJ deck, partying and enjoying the amazing view. It really was such a great event, one of the best and one of my favourite so far!
Here’s some of my favourite snaps from the event:
Watch me shake a little move (and the compulsory pout) in the official video from the night:
