This year, homegrown lingerie label, Perk by Kate proudly celebrates 10 years of bringing real lingerie to real women.
Founded in February 2012 by Kate Low, Perk by Kate was born when she noticed a distinct lack of comfortable lingerie in the market – pieces that flatter real bodies without sacrificing comfort and confidence. An advocate for inclusivity even before it became a buzzword, Kate grew the brand with the desire to fulfil the lingerie needs of women of all body shapes. Today, the brand not only continues to shape the way women view and wear lingerie but also plays an integral role in starting conversations on the importance of prioritising restoration and mental wellbeing.
Creating a Sanctuary – Introducing the Perk by Kate Lifestyle Space
Over the past decade, Perk by Kate has grown closely alongside its community. The brand is known for its heartfelt customer-first approach – often demonstrated through thoughtful gestures and a sincere desire to meet needs. With every intimate conversation, came new additions, improvements and introductions – culminating in the evolution of the Perk by Kate brand into what it is today.
In keeping with this ethos, Perk by Kate is pleased to introduce its new lifestyle and collaborative space within the Perk by Kate Lingerie Studio, a concept that came about from conversations within the brand’s community during 2020’s circuit breaker period in Singapore.
The space is envisioned as a sanctuary – a safe place that offers respite from the busyness and demands of daily life – where customers can escape, set aside responsibilities, and indulge momentarily in their own whims and fancies.
“As a business owner, wife, mother and daughter – I fully understand what it’s like to be completely caught up in giving myself to others that I forget about my own needs. Especially after the pandemic hit, I found myself fraying at the ends. I really needed to carve out me-time and create rituals to centre and calm myself. That gave me the idea of designing my own space, a space that was truly just for me, even within my home. When sharing with the women in the Perk by Kate community, I found that I wasn’t alone – I wasn’t the only one feeling off-kilter! As a brand, we’ve always been about meeting intimate needs – and this very human need for restoration is no different. The new lifestyle corner in the studio is my way of inspiring and encouraging women to take that step towards creating personal spaces for themselves, both in their hearts and homes, and filling it with anything they love and everything that sparks joy,” said Kate.
Featuring a thoughtful selection of beauty and homeware products that reflect the introspective nature of the Perk by Kate lifestyle, every product was curated and hand-picked by Kate. These include a selection of homeware, from rose-gold accented plates and ceramic cups in calming hues, to aromatherapy and fragrances, as well as skincare products from local brand, RE:ERTH, all curated to restore, reframe and revive.
The space, which doubles up as a collaborative event venue, will also be used for workshops that focus on supporting women in their personal journeys to feeling beautiful, inside and out.
Perk by Kate to expand lingerie offerings – including its debut boudoir range
As part of its 10th anniversary, Perk by Kate will also be introducing a more extensive range of lingerie offerings, both in size and style.
To date, the brand proudly carries 12 sizes, fitting women from 30A to 40C, and is working on lingerie to fit women with cup sizes D and above, and band sizes 40 and above.
More styles, including a complete range of underwire, strapless and everyday bras will be launched throughout the year. The brand is also developing a range of lingerie for breast cancer survivors to support them in their recovery process, set to launch in October 2021.
Other exciting plans in the pipeline include an upcoming collaboration with homegrown fashion label, Stolen, an athleisure capsule as well as the brand’s very first boudoir range.
