When getting fit gets fun

There is nothing worse than getting the idea in your head that you want to get fit. It’s not that the idea of getting fit is a bad one, it’s that getting up and doing it can be the hardest thing that you do this year. Everyone always has that thing – you want to get up and get fit but the idea of running? No. The idea of joining a HIIT class? No. There are so many options for exercise out there but you have to be feeling it before you get started.

You deserve to feel excited by fitness and by the options you have in front of you. There are so many ways that you can get out there and have fun with fitness. You can start looking at how to buy the perfect pair of inline skates – you know, for those days in the park that you can really have some fun. Working out is supposed to thrill you and if it’s not, you should be finding ways to make it so. So, with this in mind, here are the ways that you can get fit for fun.

  • Get in the ocean. Okay, so this won’t be relevant in the middle of winter but it’s the perfect option when you are heading into the spring and summer months. Getting into the ocean can be one of the best ways that you get fit this year. You can either surf, swim or dive your way into the water but as long as you are moving your body and you are feeling good while you do it, getting in the ocean is the smart thing to do!
  • Go up and down the stairs. Are you living in an apartment building? One of the best ways to truly challenge yourself is to get yourself up and down the stairs. You don’t have to go the entire building if you don’t want to, but a great workout will be stairs because you can strengthen your legs, work your butt and make your quads stronger. You can also use the bottom step as a way to workout, too, with step workouts on YouTube

  • Go out and walk! You can take in so much when you are out walking and you can always bring your skates with you if you fancy having some fun at the park, too. You might not be the person who likes to walk long distances, but you’ll be surprised with how far you get and how much you can see simply by mapping out a safe walking route. Whether you go along the beach, through the countryside or you situate yourself in the city, walking is one of the best, safest ways to get your heartrate up.
  • Skip it. Do you remember playing with skipping ropes as a kid? Well, you can have so much fun recreating that time in your life when you pick a good, heavyweight skipping rope that’s going to give you all the good feelings. You can skip and jump, and you can even make it a team sport with friends!
