Brief Encounter Lingerie Event at Coco de Mer

A few blood moons ago, I was approached by two gloriously talented and beautiful women in the lingerie industry – Pia from Studio Pia and Doll Cat Pvssy, to discuss throwing a lingerie event for influencers in the industry. Obviously, I said hell fucking yes. A few emails later we’re hosting it at the prestigious Coco de Mer in Soho and we’ve given birth to Brief Encounter.

The aim of Brief Encounter was pure and simple: to gather those in the lingerie and sex toy industry into one room for networking, drinking and some naughty fun. It was also to celebrate Pia launching her first ever lingerie collection (she’s an ex Bordelle designer so she knows a thing or five about decent underwear). I actually modelled Pia’s university graduate collection when I was a wee 21 year old! How time flies.

An invite only female event (sorry boys), we took charge of Coco de Mer’s stunning interior for two hours last Friday, putting on quite the show.  We had a fan burlesque dancer, Chrys Columbine, show off her serious dancing skills to Lana Del Rey in the middle of the shop floor. We held a raffle on the night – all items donated by incredible lingerie and bedroom toy designers along with two LELO vibrators, with all monies raised from the raffle going to Breast Cancer Now. We raised a massive £270! Thank you everyone who donated and who bought a raffle strip – we hope you all loved your new naughty items! Those chokers though…just wow.

The event was just so so so so SOOOOO awesome. This is the fifth event I’ve organised and co-hosted and I love it when the night goes better than expected. The girls who came were incredible, so happy to have met such inspiring and talented women. I’m all about that shizz. There’s a lot of people to thank so, let’s start with the goody bags shall we?

Technic Cosmetics provides us with some incredible goody bags, including in every one: contour kit, eyeshadow palette, lipstick and brush. LELO offered some luxury lube for…well…you know! Daniel Galvin gave 50% off vouchers at their Selfridges salon (I will be booking in ASAP!) whilst Bedroom Behaviour placed some cheeky nipple cover pasties in every bag. There were also chocolates from Artisan du Chocolat – but this isn’t just any chocolate, oh no. It’s their newly launched Nutricoa which contains all the multi-vitamins and beauty supplements a girl needs. In a chocolate bar! Would you expect anything less from us?

Just Bee provided us with wildflower seeds for the bags and non-alcoholic beverages on the night, which I certainly enjoyed after a few Proseccos! Each spring water contains a single drop of honey – no artificial sugars added, just natural ingredients packed with natural antioxidants. They’ve got three yummy flavours to choose from too.
