Not a fan of the C-word in November? Don’t care!
Here at S&LC I bloody love Christmas, so let’s get going on some festive content.
Christmas is almost upon us, and so it is time to get brainstorming gift ideas. Whether you have lots of people to buy for or just a few, you want to ensure you get them something they will love. With lockdown putting a stop to a lot of physical Christmas shopping (particularly for those who like to get organised in November) it is important to get looking online. With 2020 being a tough year, small businesses need your support more than ever, so don’t forget to look at the local businesses in your area and how you can help them this time of year too. Here are just a few Christmas gift ideas for your loved ones this December.
1. Jewellery
Jewellery is a no brainer at Christmas and no matter who you are buying for; it is a gift they are guaranteed to love. Whether you are buying a specialist brand for someone and want to do your research like looking into the history of ChloBo, or want to go to their fail-safe choice, you can’t go wrong. Be sure to think about the types of jewellery the recipient normally wears and choose something relatively similar. While it can be tempting to get them something totally different, you don’t want to run the risk of them not liking it and having to exchange it for something different, or them being polite and keeping it but never wearing it! This is a waste of money for you and of a gift for them.
2. Hamper
A hamper is a great Christmas gift idea as it can encapsulate everything they love in one big gift. There are many stores which are known for their famous hampers, such as Selfridges or Fortnum and Mason, but you could also make your own. You could order a wicker basket and some tissue paper and fill it with your family or friend’s favourite food and drink. Not only will this be that bit more personal, but is guaranteed to be a bit cheaper too!
3. Something personalised
A personalised gift is always appreciated and when Christmas comes around, it is something they will never forget receiving. There are many gifts which you can personalise nowadays, from a piece of jewellery to a trinket box or dressing gown. Think of something they will love and what you can enhance with the addition of personalisation. Why not get a special date engraved to a bracelet or a birthstone into a necklace? There are so many options out there on the market, take your time and choose something you know they will love.
These are just a few Christmas gift ideas for your loved ones. No matter whether you decide to shop online or wait until lockdown is lifted so you can go shopping in physical stores, it is a good idea to try and be as organised as soon as possible. Make lists for different people and go into the shop with an idea of what you would like for certain people. This is a good way to minimise your shopping time and ensure that you get people things they will really like rather than panic buying something you hope they will enjoy as there’s no time left to shop around.
