Last Minute Valentine’s Day Date Ideas in London

Grab your bae and saddle up for an evening of sop…

Bit last minute innit? That’s okay – all of our ideas are still available at time of publication. Get in there quick and you should be just fiiiine.

Snuggle up at Greenwich Picturehouse

The seats here still win my award for comfiest in the capital, nay the country. Hell, just go on your own and have a good snooze. They’re also showing Dirty Dancing to commemorate its 30th (I KNOW) anniversary. There’s a lovely bar inside for a little pre-movie chatter, and you can even take your wine into the screen with you.

Get high and intoxicated at The Shard

For £25.95 each, take your date above the clouds to level 69 (not a joke) and see Landan at night. And if you’re feeling extra brave, head up even further to the open air deck on 72. Maybe just make sure they don’t suffer from vertigo first. Nausea and terror may just spoil the mood. You can also add a glass of champers for £8 and there’ll be a sexy* saxophonist jazzing the night away.

*Sexiness not guaranteed. I just liked the alliteration

Drink cocktails with New Orleans jazz at Nightjar Bar

Step through a hidden entrance into the dimly lit nightjar, and cosy up at a table for two at this cool AF bar that’ll make you remember why you put up with TFL everyday to live in this god forsaken city. Soundtracked by jazz, funk and blues pianist, Dom Pipkin (he tours with Paloma Faith), sip on impressively presented cocktails and feel very London and very smug. Email to book.

Get a selfie with Kim and Kanye whilst drinking prosecco at Madame Tussauds

Taking place after hours from 7.30, enjoy comparing your own relationship to the ones of high-profile celebrities captured in wax. The best thing about this event? No kids. And there’s prosecco. Tickets are £25 – book online.

Feel fancy and sophisticated in Hawksmoor Bar

Put on your best can’t-walk-in-these-but-they-look-fit heels, grab an uber and go for drinks or dinner at Hawksmoor Spitalfields. I hate that phrase ‘soak up the atmosphere’, but I can’t think of a better place to use it than here. They’ve got it bang on. Sink into the copper, turquoise and wood sumptuousness, order cocktails and woo away.
