Beauty Review: The Ultimate Facial at Skin Health Spa, Marylebone

With salons dotted across the UK, Skin Health Spa has been a firm favourite for facial treatments since they opened back in 1999.  They specialise in permanent hair removal and hair reduction with Lasers for Acne and Acne Scarring treatments, Skin Rejuvenation, Muscle Relaxing Injections and Dermal Fillers along with Derma Rollers amongst many other treatments.

I was offered a trip to their Marylebone salon to try out the Ultimate Facial; a best selling treatment for celebrities.   I’ve never had a facial before (yes, I know it is ridiculous…I just never have) so had no idea what to expect when I strolled throught the front doors.

This Ultra Fab treatment was initially developed for one of their long-term following celebs who was looking for something to combat the grime of make-up, shoots, studio lights and London grime. The client loved it so much they decided to introduce it to all of their  clients.

Skin Health Spa’s Ultimate Facial package is a carefully selected series of treatments that promotes healthy facial skin within a matter of weeks, and is used to treat lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation, rosacea, skin surfacing, pores, dead and tired looking skin and is suitable for a number of problematic areas including eyes, mouth, forehead, cheeks, and neck and can be used on all skin types. Suitable for the face only – this is the treatment to undertake in the day to present at night.

Package includes: Single Microdermabrasion Treatment (£65.00 Value), Single Balancing Enzyme Facial Treatment (£85 Value), Single Transderm Treatment (£95 Value) and then a Light Facial Massage to finish.  This was one of the best hours of my life!  I absolutely loved it!  The microdermabrasion treatment felt like a mini hoover sucking my face, whilst the enzyme facial treatment made my skin feel so tight and refreshed.  She even extracts all your blackheads in the pores too, which is difficult to see yourself sometimes in a dull mirror. The best part had to be the transderm treatment – the machine basically produces mini muscle movements and spasms across your face, designed to aid tighetning of the skin.  It feels SO weird!  I literally laughed my way through the entire treatment.  Funny but awesome.

The brand were kind enough to offer both myself and my sister a complimentary facial.  £245 may seem like a lot to spend on a facial but even if I had paid for it myself, I’d still say it was absolutely worth every penny.  My face just feels…alive.  The girls in this salon were so wonderful too…you felt immediately welcome and relaxed.  Absolutely worth a trip, I’ll definitely be heading back.
