The Dry Martini

The Dry Martini is the most famous among a well-known family of classic cocktails – the stirred cocktail family. The degree of classicism of the Martini family can be attested to by the fact that out of this family Ian Fleming chose a drink for his connoisseur protagonist – James Bond. The dry martini is a combination of dry vermouth gin mixed together in a shaker and served in a martini glass accompanied by an olive. Dry martini can be served in a variety of dryness levels, by changing the dosages of the two ingredients; increasing the amount of gin and lowering the amount of hormone will make the cocktail drier, for example.
