Flo – Ovulation Calendar, Period Tracker, and Pregnancy App

Before I begin just know this – this is not sponsored in any shape or form, nor have I had any communication with Flo App directly, nor have I had any PR press release email pitch. This article is purely my personal recommendation of the simple fact that EVERY WOMAN SHOULD GET THIS APP IT IS AMAZING BEYOND AMAZING.

Got that? Right, now we can begin…

One of my beautiful best friends suggested I get an app to track my periods and ovulation when I was lamenting about how contraception messes with my head because #hormones. I don’t want to fall pregnant just yet (and no, I don’t like condoms) so I was trying to find a solution that didn’t make me mental. She said there is a great app called Flo that helps you track when you’re on, off, ovulating etc. I thought, great, I’ll give it a whirl.

Little did I know how fricking EPIC Flo actually is.

I logged in, logged my latest period, and logged how many days it was for, and then watched the magic happen. Not only does this app depict calendars of when your period is next due, it amends the cycles to match any shorter / longer / irregular periods you might have, and shows you when exactly you’re ovulating AND when your highest possibility is of getting pregnant.

It also shows you your cycle with regards to PMS and Ovulation and informs you of possible moods, low energy etc. You can log your own findings and how you feel per day too. The screengrabs below show you my personal details, on when my last period was, the blue dates are a higher chance of getting pregnant and the dotted circular blue date is my ovulation date:

“We support women and everyone who menstruates throughout their entire reproductive lives, with personalised cycle predictions, virtual health assistants, insights on general health, fertility and pregnancy.”

I’m literally obsessed. There are so many functions offered that I haven’t even delved into yet, including logging sleep patterns, exercise, water intake, nutrition, weight… the works. This is the kind of thing I wish 15 year old Nixalina had to hand. The information provided is astounding, not just about your own personal flow, cycle and ovulation but the health topics and discussions provided are incredible. Click on ‘Insights’ at the bottom and you’re in a page full of fantastic informative articles including Mastering Orgasms, Vaginal Discharge Guide, Pregnancy Signs, Effects of Contraception… I could go on.

I got the app for monitoring my cycle as a natural contraceptive method but I’ve stayed for the entire feminine health experience. Even if you’re on contraception or single or pregnant…whatever it may be…I endorse every woman out there to get this app.
